I'm finally happy here
A sedated monster
But not too far from you

I can still find you
And see you

The time may never come
When I peel back the thick skin
Uncovering my innocent feelings for you

And tell you that I meant it
When I cried into the blowing moon
Fastening the seat belts in cold and lonely parking lots
Wondering why I never had the strength
To fight the pleasure of experience

How the leaves turn drier before equinox
Every crinkle in my face replaces your memory
My hope for aftershocks is eroding
And now I will say some words

I loved you.
